Can I Heal My Gut?

Butter Lemon Chilli Sauce

This is a great sauce for livening up almost any dish. I generally use it with chicken, or salmon. It’s really easy to make, and can be put together in a few minutes. You can make the sauce on it’s own, and use it to pour over your dish at serving, or you can cook your ingredients in it, as you would a stir fry.


  • 1 whole Lemon.
  • 50 grams Butter.
  • Half teaspoon Thyme.
  • 1 clove Garlic.
  • Half teaspoon Chilli Flakes.


Warm a jug with your butter inside. I usually place the jug in the oven, as it’s on anyway. Alternatively, you can add the butter to a pan, and warm it slowly. Squeeze the juice of your lemon into the melted butter, and add the Thyme, Garlic, and Chilli Flakes. You can use a fresh chilli if you prefer, it depends how hot you want the sauce. Combine all these ingredients, and add to a pan to warm. If using in a stir fry, you can add this sauce near the start of your cooking.

Health Benefits

This sauce is effective in helping your digestion. Lemon is acidic which is great for boosting a low acidic stomach. Butter is high in saturated fat which is good for helping to digest protein. Garlic stimulates peristaltic action and the secretion of the digestive juices – preparing your stomach for what’s to come. Thyme, and Chilli have anti-fungal properties to help combat your Candida outbreak.
